The following series of paintings were
created via 9/11. I went to the Malibu ranch to sit, connect
with God and make sense of it all. Sitting on a rock by the pond, I focused
on the Divine and noticed the water's rippled reflected light dance on the bellies of
suspended sycamore branches from up above. The ethereal light show were like angels as
smooth as silk, gracing and embracing all that it encountered.

The light swirled across the face of the
pond's surface, drawing my attention to the mirror earthly images reflected in the water's
shadows.

Fish swam thru the middle layer of water,
continuing to draw my consciousness even deeper, until I focused on the shapes and shadows
that lurked amongst the rocks and algae at the bottom of the pond.

I went back to my studio that day
and started to paint another pond painting. I layered in the shadows on the bottom
of the pond in a loose subliminal manner. When I stepped back to fill my brush with
more paint, I looked at my canvas and realized it was finished. And thus, started
the Drama Series.
